Coaching Requirements
Police Checks are mandatory requirements of all OHMBA volunteers. Head coaches are expected to provide their own police check and ensure this requirement is met by all chosen assistant coaches and managers before December 31, 2025.
Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities (AODA) training is a mandatory requirement for all OHMBA volunteers. Head coaches are expected to provide their record of training and ensure this requirement is met by all chosen assistant coaches and managers before December 31, 2025.

Ontario Baseball Association (OBA) determines a list of mandatory training requirements for coaches at each age level (subject to change each year). The head coach is responsible for ensuring that all staff meets these requirements.
Rep/select coaches are responsible for the full management of the team including aspects of budget, coordination, communication, team trainer, etc. in addition to the player development and game play aspects. Coaches are encouraged to identify a team manager to assist with many aspects of this. A financial representative other than the head coach or any member of their family must also be designated for each team.
Coaches are representatives of OHMBA at all times and are expected to adhere to and enforce all OHMBA polices and procedures.
Coaching positions are appointed annually, and no coach is guaranteed a team beyond the current season if selected.
