Good Start for the 8U Bengals
The 8U Bengals have gotten off to a good start, going 2-0-1 in their first 3 exhibition games.
Game 1 was against the Aurora-King Jays, Wednesday June 30th @ Alton Field, and the Bengals came out strong from the very beginning. The team definitely looked like they were #Ready2Roar, going on to a convincing 29-3 win over the Jays.
Game 2 saw the 8U Bengals take on the 9U Bengals on Monday July 5th. The 8Us again came out strong, jumping out to an early lead against their older opponents. But the 9U team settled down and clawed their way back. The 'regulation game' ended with a 19-19 tie, however the teams stuck around to play 1 more inning after the umpires had left, and the 9U team put on a show in the 'extra inning'.
On Wednesday July 7th, the Bengals played game 3 of their exhibition season against the Vaughan Vikings @ home again at Alton Field. The Bengals got off to a bit of a rocky start, with Vaughan jumping ahead 14-2 after two innings. Midway through the game the Bengals tightened up their defensive play and the bats started clicking. When the final out was recorded the Bengals had completed their comeback, knocking off the Vaughan Vikings 23-19.
The 8U Bengals travel to Stouffville this weekend to take on the Yankees in their first away game on Saturday July 10th. Game time is scheduled for a 12:30 start.
