Update on AGM - Election - Available Roles & Duties
We are less than 2 weeks away from the highly anticipated Orangeville & Headwaters Minor Baseball Association AGM...

The agenda for the evening will include, but not limited to;
- Opening Remarks
- Financial Update
- Reports from 2019 Executive Members
- Q&A
- Election of the Executive for the 2020 OHMBA Season.

For all members interested in becoming a part of the OHMBA Executive, the proposed duties and responsibilities for each role can be found in our DRAFT Constitution (Section 5) recently uploaded to the league website.

During the Election portion of the meeting, members will be required to be nominated for a position by another member. It will then be the choice of the nominated member to accept or reject the nomination. In the event that multiple members are nominated for a specific role, the nominated members will each be asked to provide a brief explanation as to why they are best suited for the role, and a vote will follow where all nominees will be asked to leave the room while the remaining members participate in an open vote.

In fairness to all of our members, it is the intention of the current Executive to completely dissolve. Before this season there was no formal constitution drafted/posted, no formal job descriptions, no NFP registration, no real structure. This entire year was about a transition and focusing on setting a structure for the future of the OHMBA (formerly the OMBA before NFP registration). With the entire Executive set to dissolve, all positions will be open for election, as those currently in roles were not formally elected to those positions by the membership. This will mean that initially some positions will only be a one year term (those set out in the constitution to be elected on even years), and those positions elected on odd years will be a 2 year term. The only position that will have an initial stipulation is the position of President. As per our draft constitution, in order to be elected President, the individual must have held a role on the Executive during the 2019 season. In the event that there is no nominee for President from the 2019 Executive, the President's position will also be opened up to be filled by the general membership.

While some members of the current Executive may or may not be voted in for 2020, all have committed to supporting the new Executive through transition activities. We look forward to seeing many of you at the OHMBA AGM on October 7th. We have a great amount of support for baseball in this community, and the future of the OHMBA is bright!
