Hey Bengals Family,
The 2021 season was one filled with many challenges, but we were able to deliver a baseball season during the pandemic, and we hope you enjoyed seeing the players back on the fields just as much as we did. Thank you to everyone that played a role in making it happen.
As we turn the page and begin planning for the 2022 season, it's that time of year where we are preparing for our Annual General Meeting & Executive Election...
The Orangeville & Headwaters Minor Baseball Association AGM will take place virtually on Sunday November 28th @ 7:30pm. We'll soon be posting a sign-up sheet for our membership wishing to attend, and a meeting invite will be sent to those that sign up. As in past years, the AGM will include updates on some key items, and there will be time allotted for a Q&A period. The following roles will also be up for election:
- Vice President: House League
- Vice President: Rep/Select
- Public Outreach / Social Media Coordinator
- Uniform Manager
- Sponsorship / Fundraising Coordinator
In order to be elected for an Executive position, one must be nominated by another member for a specific role. There will be a vote amongst the members attending the AGM, if there is more than 1 candidate for a specific role . For an overview of the duties/responsibilities of the above roles, please have a look at pages 4-7 of the OHMBA Constitution .The AGM sign up form will provide an opportunity for members to indicate if they are interested in being nominated for a specific role. Additional nominations may also be made during the AGM.
In additional to the above roles, we're looking for Divisional Conveners to help support our House League operations and VP of House League. We're also looking for volunteers to be a part of our newly formed Rep/Select Executive Committee.
House League Conveners will work in alignment with the VP of House League to support our teams and coaches in the House League divisions. We did not have Conveners in 2021, and it is imperative that we fill these roles going forward, to ensure that our House League operations are adequately supported. Conveners can be coaches as well. General duties and responsibilities of Conveners can be found on page 8 of the OHMBA Constitution
Rep/Select Executive Committee members are needed to help support our VP of Rep/Select, and will play a vital role in bringing some standardization across our Rep/Select Teams; including the structure of our tryouts and grading/evaluation system. The Rep/Select Executive Committee, in alignment with our VP of Rep/Select, will be tasked with further developing our Rep Program based on the 3 principles of Development, Leadership, and Community. We're also interested in identifying and implementing opportunities to further integrate our Rep/Select and HL programs, building a strong OHMBA baseball community. It is preferred that Rep/Select Executive Committee members are not Head Coaches. However, Assistants, Team Managers, and parents are all welcome to sign up for the Rep/Select Committee.
