Field Renovations Confirmed - Rescheduling Pending
Hey Bengals,
We're happy to announce that we have confirmed dates / timelines for our diamond construction. While this will require us to reschedule some games/practices while the work is being completed, getting this done during the season was necessary to avoid possible further delays due to the increased chance of poor weather in the fall and spring months...
The following confirmed timelines have been provided by the Town, with regards to diamond work being completed. This work is being completed by a 3rd party subcontractor as part of the capital budget, in co-ordination with Town Parks and Recreation staff.
Princess of Wales Diamond
Start Date: Monday July 11th
Completion Date: Sunday July 31st
Springbrook Shack (Major) Diamond
Start Date: Monday July 25th
Completion Date: Sunday August 14th
Springbrook North (Tball) Diamond
Start Date: Monday August 1st
Completion Date: Sunday August 21st
For all of the above diamonds, the gravel/rock dust infield materials will be removed and replaced with a proper clay/ball mix. This will improve both the safety and playability of the diamond, as well as improve the maintenance and longevity of the playing surface.
As mentioned previously, it will be necessary for us to reschedule games/practices on these diamonds to other facilities while the work is completed. Every effort will be made to relocate these games to diamonds within the Orangeville/Caledon/Erin/Mono area and keep play nights the same, but we may also need to look at alternative solutions; including the possibility of rescheduling some games to different nights and/or weekends. We appreciate that moving play nights while the construction is being completed may cause conflicts, but we hope that everyone can remain flexible while we have work completed on the above diamonds that we have been advocating for over the past many years.
