Closing Day Plans Being Finalized
Hey Bengals,

It may be hard to believe, but in about a month we will see our House League season come to a close. With that said, we're excited to be planning for our first post-pandemic Closing Day Event...

Fields / Permits are currently being finalized for the following dates:

5U / 7U Closing Day - Saturday August 20th - rainout date Sunday August 21st
9U & Above Closing Day- Saturday August 27th - rainout date Sunday August 22nd

As was the case pre-covid, Closing Day will see teams play 1 final game. It is our intention to match teams up as evenly as possible, and coaches/teams have been asked to ensure scores are reported leading up to closing day.  This will allow us to determine match-ups. Schedules will be posted to the website / app once finalized.

For the first time, our 5U & 7U Closing Day will include a Rally Cap evaluation. Rally Cap Participant Progress Cards will be distributed to coaches, and a field will be set up strictly for evaluations. Volunteers will be needed to help run the drills so that coaches can focus on evaluations. After the evaluation, our 5U teams will play a game within their pod, and our 7U teams will be matched up to play 1 final game.

For 9U & Above, we are hoping to organize a fun event (HomeRun Derby?) to go along with their final game.

All players participating in closing day activities will receive a 2022 participation medal, their team/individual photos, as well as a ticket for a free slice of pizza and a drink. Additional tickets will be provided to teams for their coaches. Unlike past years where we would hold our Closing Day activities primarily at Springbrook Park, this year with the diamonds and shack under construction we will have to move closing day. Details to follow, but we are hoping to host closing day activities at the Idyllwilde and Rotary diamonds (with the exception of 18U that will require the Springbrook Centre or Princess of Wales diamond).

As always, volunteers will be needed to help ensure our closing day is a homerun. If you are able to, please sign up to volunteer here . Stay tuned for more details.
