Rep Program
Orangeville & Headwaters Minor Baseball Rep teams play in the York Simcoe Baseball Association (YSBA), an affiliate of Baseball Ontario. We recognize that it isn't all about winning or losing on the field when it comes to youth sport. The OHMBA is focused not only on developing youth baseball players, but also building strong leaders, and working within our community at large to have a positive impact. The pride of the Bengals program is engrained in the 3 principles of community, leadership, and development. Representative Teams within the OHMBA are expected to organize and engage in at least 1 community volunteer event during the year, including events such as Rotary Ribfest, Orangeville Foodbank Food Drives, etc...
Program Components
Team selection begins in September with fall tryouts, which leads to team activities starting in October and indoor winter workouts from January to April. League play starts the first week of May against other teams in the YSBA. On average, 12-14 players are selected for each team. Registration fees for competitive players are approximately double the cost of house league. In addition to Registration Fees, Rep Teams may also have individual "Team Fees". Team fees are used to pay for team equipment, tournament entry fees, and other items identified by the coach/management staff. Team fees can generally be reduced through fundraising and sponsorship opportunities prior to and during the season.
