Venues - What's going on & where
In order to facilitate a 16 team tournament we will be utilizing 5 diamonds - Rotary Park North & South, Idyllwilde Large, Springbrook Shack, and the Alton Community Diamond. For diamond addresses, be sure to check out the link in the tournament pages labelled "Tournament Venues". For more information on each specific venue, check out the rest of this article...

Rotary North & South + Idyllwilde Large

These 3 diamonds will see the majority of the games throughout the weekend, with the Championship Game taking place at the Idyllwilde Large Diamond. While the parks are connected via walking path, parking is available  at each diamond. For overflow parking, the lot located behind the DriveTest Centre has ample space, and can be accessed via 4th Ave from Hwy 10.

Between the parks (located in the Tennis Club Pavilion) is where our Tournament Headquarters will be. This is a covered outdoor space with picnic tables and you will find the tournament bracket posted here. This pavilion also has washrooms, and our Food Truck vendor and concessions stand will be located close by. On Saturday evening from 7-10pm we will also have OHMBA VP of House League - Ryan Hancock (and his Campfire Poets bandmate) set up in the pavilion to perform a small concert / show for parents, players and local spectators. A face-painter from AAA Events will also be available to provide some added fun for the kids. There is also a park and some swings located in the space between the two diamonds (beside the tennis court), as well as a skate park.

Springbrook Shack - Major Diamond

Springbrook Park is the "Home" of Orangeville & Headwaters Minor Baseball Association. While the Google Maps image below is outdated, the two limestone diamonds were resurfaced this season (with clay) and mag bags were installed. The LF fence was also moved back on the Shack diamond to create a more uniform shape. There is a small parking lot for the Shack/Major Diamond located on TownLine (behing the RF fence), with additional parking located at the school on Century Drive.

The OHMBA "Shack" is located directly behind the diamond, and would generally provide washroom facilities and snackbar services to teams using the fields. In the winter of 2021/22 the OHMBA took on the project of fundraising and renovating this 30 year old building. Through generous sponsors (and support from the Town Council) the league was able to raise over $40,000 to renovate the building and add a 2nd floor that would act as an announcer booth and provide a space for league operations. Unfortunately due to unforeseen delays with permits, the shack renovation was only able to get underway in late July and will still be under construction during the tournament.

As a result of the building still being under renovation, portable washroom facilities have been rented for the event and will be in the parking lot behind RF. We have also reached out and partnered with Community Living Dufferin and they will be setting up a concessions stand while games are going on. The Concession stand will be located behind the 3rd base dugout.

Alton Community Diamond

While technically located in Caledon, the Alton Community diamond is located just outside of Orangeville (10 mins from the Springbrook diamonds) and has been the home diamond of our 8U - 11U Rep Teams for the past couple of seasons - due to the size of our association and a lack of diamonds available within the Town of Orangeville. With the shack diamond and building being renovated this year we are hoping to move our 8U-10U rep teams back to that diamond for 2023.

The Alton Community diamond is a great little spot tucked away behind Alton Public School (the outdated google photo below does not do this space justice). In addition to the diamond, the park has a pump track, skate park, and washroom facilities with a covered picnic table area. The building with the washroom facilities also houses a snackbar, however with only 1 game being played at Alton the shackbar will not be operational. Parking for the diamond is located behind the school on Stations Street - next to the community library.
